Last Day in the Bahamas

So I’ve eaten breakfast, packed up, checked out, moved all my luggage to the bell desk where it’s locked away. And… now enjoying life. Freaking amazing to be under the sun, lounging around, drinking a cocktail hahaha mmmm…. Lovely.

more shots of stuff around the resort

Lunch, i barely ate anything bc i didn’t really have an appetite. But there was awesome seafood for the first time. lol. Crab, shrimp, clams and so forth. Awesome stuff 😛 mmmmm…. I’m hungry now, its dinner time soon as i type this. After lunch we hit the beach and napped under the sun on the golden beach overlooking the emerald sea. i spent some time sketching. the only drawing that turned out okay was this one:

Aoi on the beach of the Bahamas 😛 I’m loving the straw hats so it seems like i want to put a hat on all of my characters XD i will color this one later. It’s still kinda… meh. but it was the only one that was okay. i totally lost my drawing touch after so long. I was on the recliner with a lopsided straw hat, large sunglasses, summery scarf and dress shirt… i probably looked like a total artist LOL

Today we also accomplished something like hanging out at all the places we could think of lol. We’ve been chilling at different lounge areas all over the resort. 😛 Here are some shots of the lobby and various chill spots. Though I must say the pics don’t do any of this justice. It just feels so chill while ur there.

My mom took a quick trip to the nearby straw market to look for more souvenirs for people. I snapped a quick shot of what it looked like. Later i’m also going to gather all the souvenirs (there weren’t that many anyway) and as per my tradition for every trip, post up a picture of all my souvenirs.

I was super hungry at dinner since i didn’t eat much at lunch. But honestly, looking back at the whole trip, i’ve never eaten so much in my life.. well at least in a long time. So much food. dishes of all kinds. I miss it already. This is the (first plate of our) last supper in the Bahamas:

After dinner we gathered our luggage in the lobby and found to our amusement a group of asians (Taiwanese i believe). It’s a nice pleasant surprise since we haven’t seen a lot of asians in the past few days. and there was this hot girl… anyway…. LOL.

So we headed for the bus and departed for the airport. The drive to the airport was around 15 minutes but it was really nice. The night drive reminds me of a mission trip. bumpy bus ride, dark jungle on both sides, empty roads and pretty much only the headlights guiding us. haha It was cool. To sum up the Bahamian environment, its kind of like… resort, beach, summer and then there’s the less developed side of the coin, where it feels like a jungle and a rural mission trip. Real neat.

At the airport, we gotta settled down quick enough. However, interestingly, our boarding passes were all handwritten/printed/copied by the dude at the check in desk. It took FOREVER. Every single number, passport, seat number, flight number, security codes, baggage id, etc etc LOL. It also had to be copied into their records by hand. haha. Oh my.

The gate area was really small,  i think there’s only two gates. We were gate B. I’d assume there’s an A. XD Now pretty much for the next while i just sketched. And to my amazement i actually created two more decent sketches. I guess this is like a series inspired by the Bahamas and i’m sure more drawings will come out in the near future. I’m not totally proud of these because they aren’t flawless, but i’m surprised i actually can create some different poses in manga style. I shall continue to work at this. I might be able to create this visual novel/manga project sooner, with my new confidence and abilities. Beach volleyball… Aoi looks real boy-ish, it was hard trying to do angle of the face (i changed my original plan on having her face look up) and i messed up on the hair mostly… trying to make it look like it’s flying while she’s jumping is difficult. Airu in that pic is hot tho 😛 And then Aoi and Seiji conversing by the pool. Aoi in this one looks hot in my opinion XD Here’s all three again:

After a grueling few hours in the airport waiting in a crammed small space — there were at least 4 flights or so all in the same waiting area, we boarded and loaded into more confined space for the flight. There was a chinese flight attendant, haha, glad to see more asians at last. Finally getting closer to toronto LOL. The flight sucked in general. It started at 11:15pm or so and all throughout we were pestered by overly talkative cabin crew, passengers, and even the pilot who kept making unnecessary announcements and keeping lights on. I barely got any sleep. Arrived in Toronto at 2 am ish.

Most uncomfortable esp bc of my hair which was a tangled mess against my face partly due to me wearing the straw hat for most of the day and also the whole flight and awkward sleeping positions. It was just nasty? lol

Anyway, i’m finally home. It’s good to be home. But it’s not good to be back in this cold temperature. Why is Toronto still so cold? I miss the warm weather and stuff already. Though i enjoy the convenience i have at home.

Soon, I’ll post up my “selca” collection (camwhore photos) to reveal my identity at last! hahaha Look forward to that? maybe?

I’m so freaking tired. Caught brief naps here and there but certainly not enough. It’s 5 am. Time to call it a night.

But before that, a little blurb that now that i’m done trying to enjoy my trip, i can pour my heart out for japan. It’s heart wrenching and so painful for me to watch all this go on while on the trip. Not being able to do anything about it…. This is so devastating and such a huge disaster. Can’t believe it happened to somewhere so close to us. Close to our hearts and our identity. Let’s keep fighting together and keep praying.

Well, good night now!
