This is the cover of Cosmo Clock 21, the sequel novel  to Espresso Love. The first little segment is available as a short story on The Elephant Girl and Other Short Stories !! It is a new approach, with a new story and new characters, but based on the same universe.

WATTPARTY

On June 26th, I had the honour of being invited to the Wattpad Open House/Office Warming Party downtown! It’s real cool that Wattpad HQ is in Toronto and in the past few months I had the opportunity of meeting and talking to staff. There are many I hadn’t met yet so this event was really neat. I’m delightfully surprised and flattered to know that many of the staff had been enjoying Espresso Love! Bridging the gap between the online world and real life connections is a good feeling and anchors what we do into reality.

The office itself is near Union, with an enormous and an incredibly designed interior space. We congregated on the top floor where there are cocktail bars, couches, places to sit and chill, sleeping hammock, kitchen, a large Tree with leaves made up of quotes from Wattpad books and a mini bookshelf on its tree trunk. Last time when I visited Wattpad, I already knew it would be enticing, but seeing it at the party in its fully furnished form, convinced me I would love to live there.

There were hundreds of guests and staff, lots of drinks (yay alcohol) and food, and among them were several famous Wattpad writers with millions of reads and tens of thousands of followers who had flown in from different cities. Hanging out with them and seeing their spectacular success was incredibly inspiring as well. Some of their books had been published and are available in bookstores. Looking forward to follow in the same footsteps. But above all, the realization that we’re all just ordinary fun loving people behind what we do, is something I’ve always experienced when meeting successful talented individuals and each time, it is the greatest feeling ever. We all share this connection, the same passions and drive for our arts, and experience similar things, no matter where we are in the world. Out of 30 million users on Wattpad, or perhaps out of all the readers and writers in the world, sometimes it’s easy to feel small, but these opportunities to network and anchor down in real life, are really special moments. It makes things meaningful and encouraging. It was great meeting all of you! and I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with everyone.

 

WARPED TOUR

Yesterday I was at the Warped Tour in Toronto and had the chance to meet ONE OK ROCK: Taka, Ryota, Tomoya and Toru. You don’t know how pumped I was for this, because i wanted my Taka x Taka picture. TWO TAKAs. LOL. Signed: My guitar, CD, friend’s t-shirt, picks. I spoke to Taka in Japanese and gave him my CD homerecorded two years ago as a gift. LOL Was so excited. I need to say nothing more.

 

Other than that, I’ll update at a later date, stay tuned for a very inspiring interview with my favourite Wattpad author, Rowena Wiseman, <a href=”http://wattpad.com/outaprintwriter”>@outaprintwriter</a>!! 🙂
